suggestions, please?

I'm putting together a list (mostly for my own use but I will post it here when it's finished): 100 things to do to lift your spirits for under $10.

Right now there's things on my list like:

  • wear red shoes
  • watch Joe Vs. the Volcano
  • bake cookies

If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Go to the library. Swing on the swings. Go for a walk. Watch a video of Michael Buble. Watch Gilmore Girls (as long as it's a happy episode.) Get an ice cream cone, or a Jamba Juice. Make a collage with your 4-year-old (cutting up magazines is great therapy!) Take a bubble bath. Listen to "Be Our Guest" (No no, not the kick line!!) Hold a happy baby. Drive in the mountains. Roll down the hill at the park. Draw on the sidewalk. Make a snow angel. Have a snowball fight. OK, obviously, I could go on and on, but I won't.

Taco Bell with a girl friend. Paint your toenails. You Tube. Make faces at yourself in the mirror. Pet a puppy. Run a mile. Go for a bike ride. Call someone you haven't seen for years. Look at an old year book. Eat toast. Pick wild flowers.

Pop bubble wrap. "Mama Mia, the Sing-Along Version". Sing at the top of your lungs while driving. Try on pretty shoes. Pillow fights. Brush your hair. Watch the "Friends" episode where no one is ready (I'll be political. What are you for? Duh, Christmas!). Make Christmas Count-Down chains (Wretchel is right. Cutting paper just feels good). Make a list of 10 people who told you you looked awesome at the Hale Party. Roll down a hill at the park.

Great ideas so far... send a thank you note or two, eat peanut butter M&M's, kiss your hubby for a long time, peek in on your kids when they're sleeping, dance in the rain, dress up for Halloween when it's not Halloween, sing a Christmas song, leave surprises for your hubby, kids, friends, neighbors, surprise someone who's having a bad day just like you...

Watch "Singing In the Rain." Get a kickin' deal at the store using a combo of coupons and sale prices. Read the last chapter of "Anne of the Island." Watch "Tommy Boy" or "So I Married An Axe Murderer" and quote all the best lines ("Fat guy in a little coat . . ."). Eat finger Jell-o. Make home made slime (This is incredibly therapeutic. Ask Nathan.). Play peek-a-boo with an appreciative 1 year old. Bake bread (Isn't that smell just like therapy for the nose?). Have a really good hair day. Sing a perky broadway tune of your choosing while making up choreography on the spot. Watch any movie starring Danny Kaye (except "The Three Pennies." That one is a bit sad.). Mmmm . . . cheesecake.

Bake Esther cookies, play Rock Band with Esther, play Wii with Esther, visit Esther with your cute kids, help Drewser call Auntie Esther and leave a cute message . . . oh, wait . . . these are things that make ME happy for under $10! ;-)

Okay, here's a few serious ones. Use a "Dad-ism" in every day conversation. Blow bubbles. Listen to the Alvin and the Chipmunks version of "Funky Town" or "Bad Day." Play with Flying Hamsters. Read a gross but entertaining picture book to a kid (like "Dog Breath," "Parts," and "More Parts.")
