It was one of those moments.
David remembers Mark Spitz.
We wanted our children to remember this, or, in Ella's case, at least see it. So, we called them all in (they were downstairs watching anyway) and watched the relay together. We all cheered, jumped, chanted, pounded, and cheered again. And when the US won, we laughed and cheered together.
For me, the best part of this moment was Phelps acknowledging that he couldn't have done it alone.
History making and humble.
